About dibble & grub

Our passion is providing a welcoming environment for you to enjoy delicious food and beautiful drinks.

For both environmental and quality reasons we source as much produce as we can locally. So come for morning coffee and you'll enjoy Cornish roasted beans with milk from our neighbours on St. Agnes. Your brunch will be prepared with eggs from St. Mary's and our smoked salmon is from Cornwall.

We stock a wide range of drinks from Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly including our very own 'dibble & glug' brewed uniquely for us by Ales of Scilly!.  Wines, cider & presse from Polgoon in Penzance, and local spirits fill our bar.  All our juice is freshly squeezed and our smoothies and blended to order.

In the evening we serve a tapas menu where you can choose a selection of exciting dishes to share or opt for one of our chef's suggestions and just sit back and enjoy.

We are strict to only use fish from the waters around Scilly and Cornwall and our meat comes from no further than the Westcountry.  Apart from the Mediterranean specialities we use all Cornish cheeses too.  We love to use vegetables from the islands' farms where possible.

Both the colourful restaurant and outside terrace offer beautiful views of the bay. Or if you'd prefer to take lunch or drinks away you can relax in the knowledge that all our disposables are environmentally friendly (plant-not-plastic, recycled, compostable).

dibble & grub is an independantly owned restaurant opened in 2003.  Since then our small cafe has developed in many ways, but our driving motivation for originality and quality remain the same

If you only go to one restaurant on St. Marys make it Dibble & Grub.  Not only wonderful food, but an amazing view of the beach and sea as well.

Exquisitely located Dibble and Grub is a tapas hangout inside a former fire station (hence the name – remember the children’s TV series Trumpton?) bang on Porthcressa beach.
